Assault Frigates

Each of the four major player factions manufactures two distinct assault frigates. To pilot an assault frigate, you'll need to be an Omega clone, and train the Assault Frigates skill to at least level 1. You'll also need Mechanics, Power Grid Management, and your racial Frigate skill all trained to level 5.

Amarr

Retribution

The ultimate small energy turret platform for combat, the Retribution features bonuses to damage, range, rate of fire, and even capacitor usage. While it has poor mid-power slot fitting options, and remains the slowest of all assault frigates, its extra low-power slot and strong explosive resists make it an armor-tanking powerhouse.

Despite dealing the wrong damage types, the Retribution's high damage output and surviveability against Angel Cartel NPCs make it a strong choice for running combat sites in Minmatar space.

Vengeance

A brick of surviveability in close quarters, the Vengeance features bonuses to armor resistances, capacitor, and rocket damage and rate of fire.

While it requires a more active, in-your-face approach compared to its cousin, the Retribution, the Vengeance has even more surviveability in the face of Angel Cartel NPCs.

Retribution - Kiting Angel Cartel PvE

Capable of running all high-security Angel Cartel combat sites, though the shield tank of the faction battlecruiser in the Angel 4/10 is tough to crack. This fit is cap-stable even with the armor-tank running.

Kite larger numbers of frigates and destroyers at 35-40 kilometers with Radio S, then close range to 10-12 kilometers with Multifrequency S for cruisers and above.

Vengeance - Brawling Angel Cartel PvE

Get up close and personal in most Angel Cartel combat sites with Nova rockets. With high enough skills, this fit is cap-stable even with the dual-rep armor tank and microwarpdrive running.

Caldari

Harpy

With small hybrid turrets reaching out further than any other frigate, the Harpy features bonuses to range, damage, and shield resistances. Oh, and did I mention range?

With its strong thermal and kinetic resists, along with natural explosive resists on its shield tank, the Harpy is particularly strong against Serpentis and Guristas NPCs, and capable against Angel Cartel NPCs as well.

Hawk

While its missile bonuses are kinetic-locked, the Hawk's bonuses to missile velocity, damage, and rate of fire are coupled with a strong active shield tank.

The Hawk is just as capable against Serpentis, Guristas, and Angel Cartel NPCs as its cousin, the Harpy. With its access to auto-targeting missiles or rockets, it's especially competitive against frigate and destroyer NPCs.

Harpy - Super Kitey PvE

Capable of running all high-security Serpentis and Guristas combat sites, and most Angel Cartel sites.

Kite NPCs at 20-25 kilometers with antimatter, or snipe targets at over 50 kilometers with iridium.

Gallente

Ishkur

With the largest drone bay for a frigate outside the Astero, the Ishkur features bonuses to small hybrid turret range and damage, along with drone tracking and hitpoints. My personal favourite ship to fly, the Ishkur has highly versatile damage options, though its explosive resist hole makes it susceptible to Angel Cartel NPCs.

With its strong kinetic and thermal resists, along with natural EM resists on its armor tank, the Ishkur is particularly strong against Guristas and Serpentis NPCs, and capable against Blood Raider and Sansha's Nation NPCs as well.

Enyo

Typically a small blaster brawler, the Enyo features bonuses to optimal range, tracking speed, and damage. The Enyo is also capable of kiting with railguns, and can be quite versatile for traveling through low-security systems to escalations.

The Enyo is just as capable against Guristas, Serpentis, Blood Raider, and Sansha's Nation NPCs as its cousin, the Ishkur.

Ishkur - Kiting Versatile PvE

Capable of running all high-security Guristas and Serpentis combat sites, and most Blood Raider or Sansha's Nation sites. This fit has been updated following the changes to the Ishkur in the Uprising expansion, released Nov 8, 2022.

Kite NPCs at 45 kilometers with iron, or close range to 15 kilometers with antimatter. Or sick your drones on your enemies at any range.

Minmatar

Wolf

The ultimate small projectile turret platform for combat, the Wolf features bonuses to falloff, damage, and tracking speed. While it has poor mid-power slot fitting options, its speed and extra low-power slot give it a strong speed and armor tank.

With strong EM and thermal resists, the Wolf is especially strong against Blood Raider and Sansha's Nation NPCs.

Jaguar

The Jaguar features bonuses to rocket and light missile damage, rate of fire, and explosion velocity, along with shield boosting. Its extra mid-power slot suggest a shield-tanking powerhouse, though it suffers from fitting difficulties achieving this.

The Jaguar should be just as capable against Blood Raider and Sansha's Nation NPCs as its cousin, the Wolf.

Wolf - Kiting Blood PvE

Capable of running all high-security Blood Raider and Sansha's Nation combat sites.

Kite NPCs at 35 kilometers with proton, or close range to 10 kilometers with EMP.
